Meeting the Challenge
Jim Fay
EXPERIENCE
There is growing energy focused on
character-building in the schools and in the workplace.
I like it. At times, I need extra support to choose the high
road - take responsibility, be caring even when I am
grumpy, be fair to all, and find wisdom.... Thus I
look to remind my self in every possible way - creating
a "knee-jerk" reaction that is responsive and
respectful. This is an inspiration for SandDollar
products ... a way to fold-in reminders of the
unfettered you during daily moments of primping,
pampering and grooming (not just while taking a walk or
doing yoga or visiting a temple). You can share in
creating the recollection of your collected self -
engage your flesh, your mind, your psyche, your spirit
and your soul ... Shop
SandDollar for inspirations ... and
share suggestions - what works for you.
OBSERVATION
It's not the falling down that matters, it's
getting up again ... and again ...
ADVICE
Give thanks to and
for yourself, each and every day.
TILT (This I Learned Today)
Choosing a positive attitude is not the same as
denying your emotions. Many confuse emotion for attitude;
stuffing their feelings only to have them surface as bodily
complaints like stiffness or tension. Exercise your
freedom to fully experience your emotions without judging your
self for them. Yet, through it all, manage your attitude.
You can be authentically frustrated, discouraged, angry, tired
... and allow yourself to feel these emotions without changing
your attitude. Attitude is a choice.
EXAMPLE: I am really frustrated with this
person (emotion). Still, I choose to be loving and
respectful toward this person (attitude). Honor the
emotion by acknowledging it, but do not let it change your
attitude.
