EXPERIENCE
Sometimes the chill goes to the bone ...
then, I must recall the warm promise of the hearth at
home.
OBSERVATION
Success
consists of going from failure to failure without loss
of enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill.
ADVICE
Think before you
open your mouth.
TILT (This I Learned Today)
Building
the life you want is a lot like building a house. The first
thing you need is a blueprint or plan. In the case of the
house, you need to decide upon the style, size, and the
specifics of the floor plan. And then perhaps add decor and
landscaping to enhance the picture. The same holds true for
building on your dreams. Here is a quick and easy form to
help you create a life plan
blueprint.
Get a paper and a pen ... write
the following questions and answer them:
1. Where have I come from?
Think about the challenges you have already faced and overcome
in your life. Think about what you are most proud of, and your
biggest accomplishments.
2. Where am I right now?
Think about your life as it is. How do you feel about it? Are
you happy? Is it all that you want?
3. Where am I going?
Keeping your current goals in mind, reflect on where you want to
be. Picture this place in your mind. Think about the steps
you'll need to reach this place.
4. Have I given myself the
best chance to succeed? Reflect on whether your past
actions were enough to succeed at your goals. Next, make a list
of the things you should do immediately that will help you begin
living your dreams and give yourself a reasonable timetable to
bring them to fruition.
5. Is my life an adventure?
Do you wake up in the morning ready to greet a new day? You
know in your heart whether you're excited or bored. Are you
learning new things and going places you have never been
before? If not, write down what it will take to make your life
the adventure you want it to be.
From time to time, review these
questions and your answers ~ it will almost guarantee that you
will move in the direction of your dreams. And remember ~ along
the way you'll probably need to adjust your plan to meet your
current goal.
