Work is a four letter word… like word.  And love, kiss, grin, wink, and a whole lot of other things.  And, when you combine work with something you love, you have a grin on your lips and a kiss in your heart as you wink at those passing by…  Find what brings you such joy and do it - one moment at a time.

Thinking of you,

Tamara

EXPERIENCE

A friend and colleague of mine called it the imposter syndrome.  You know, when you get a new job or find yourself in a new encounter, you fill the role as if in an improvisational skit.  And, no matter what, every person will play the part differently based on the bag of tools collected in their lives and experiences.  I am enjoying the impromptu scenes in this production called my life.

OBSERVATION

While pondering the process of creating, it seems everything begins with desire.  First there is a wish for something, tangible or not, that would be rewarding in some way.  Then there is the moment when this wish is willed into being whether through thought, word or deed; a time of commitment to it.  And then there is the action that brings forth that which was once an idea, giving it shape and a name; perhaps even sharing it with others.

ADVICE

Look at the horizon and realize that this moment is bigger than that which is right in front of your nose.

TILT (This I Learned Today)

From the book Leadership Secrets of the World's Most Successful CEO's, by Eric Yaverbaum, here are six top strategies of leadership:

1. Have a clear vision; focus on a few things most important to it, and consistently communicate it to everyone involved.

2. Listen to others.

3. Make the lives of others better, easier and more rewarding.

4. Lead by example; take responsibility; make tough decisions.

5. Constantly innovate.

6. Plan everything so to leave nothing to chance.

These practices might be potent for leading one's life...

AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGS

Inspire your self in every way you can.  Ultimately, looking to yourself can be the richest resource for finding answers, or even questions you may need to ponder.  When you are tired, hold fast to that which awakens you, stirs your spirit, and engages your soul.

Quite simply, I have found that chewing peppermint gum helps me feel more alert and aware, maybe because it has such zesty flavor.  Then again, while investigating the properties of peppermint, I learned that several drops on the tongue were recommended as an invigorating pick-me-up in the days of yore.  And, it has been studied for its ability to improve concentration and mental accuracy.  Huh.  That and it is believed to soothe digestion, improve taste and smell when inhaled, and provide cooling on a hot day.
