I am in awe of the human condition.  It is ever changing and yet always the same.  Lessons are learned through adversity overcome.  Some trials are drawn out and others pass quickly.  And we wear the scars to remind us that we have grown... and with this evolution, perhaps we each contribute to advancement of the collective consciousness.  Hmmm.

Kind regards,

Tamara

EXPERIENCE

It was brought to my attention that I hang on to the past in a manner that is not always constructive.  So, in my quest for enlightenment, I have been "going within" to discover, recognize, and deal with stuff I no longer need to carry.  A lightening of the spirit is one of the benefits of this work:  forgiveness, making peace and coming to terms with those events that caused pain.  Often, I had not even recognized the impression some events made on my spirit, thus I did not know I would react to present events with increased impact due to stirring up a subconscious memory.   Don't need to experience that any more... So, I am "cleaning out the attic" so to speak.  Watch out for the moths.

OBSERVATION

The film "Beautiful Mind" was to me a wonderful portrait of a person learning self control; and of how a relationship provides great tests to the spirit.  I am impressed with the work of John Nash, specifically his analysis of equilibria in the theory of non-cooperative games.  Not only was he accomplished in mathematics, he also conquered himself by managing his illusions.  And I was moved by the character of his wife, Alicia.  To read more about the man, check out his auto-bio.

ADVICE

Sometimes it is necessary to redefine your long-held ideas.  Because sometimes something enriching comes along, only not in the way you had imagined.  Be open to it.

TILT (This I Learned Today)

It is important to have a "relationship" with your self.  While investigating various aspects of me, I learned that there are seven centers of energy in your body that affect your mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. These are called chakras, and, it is reported that if you know what's going on with them, you can affect your mood, perspective, and even your health! Something to consider.

AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGS

I had a very special treat.  It was a birthday gift from my hubby - a spa experience.  It started with a warm shower, then donning the fluffy white robe and slipping into the plastic sandals.  I laid bare on a sheer plastic blanket, my body was rubbed with citrus sea-salt and citrus (here I felt like the chicken whose skin is rubbed with salt), and was rinsed with a garden-hose type shower.  Then I  was sudsed up with the softest sponge, the lather left a buttery film on my skin.  Next, a row of sprinklers performed a rain-dance over me, tapping my skin with droplets for a while.

Then I was moved atop a silver foil blanket where my body was painted in a mixture of self-heating seaweed - oh, the scent of kelp.  The concoction seemed as a layer of moss that had formed on every limb.  Thus decorated, I was wrapped in the silver and left to rest for a quarter-hour.  This was washed away by a Niagra shower - a deluge of water falling from the ceiling.

In another room, my body was massaged with scented oil - kneaded like bread to lighten my center.  Peppermint lotion was rubbed into my feet.  I was dusted with Kama Sutra honey dust (I wonder if this is how furniture feels being brushed with the feather duster).  And, my hair was soaked with a lavender blend.

Finally, the facial - gentle wash then picked, prodded and poked followed by a moisture mask and lotions and vitamins and mineral oil.  I emerged feeling light on my feet and about ten years younger.  Do this sometime, for you.
