We spend only five percent of our time outdoors in our lifetime...  No wonder those "perfect" days are so precious.  The nights of summer are especially enchanting with warm breezes and starry skies ... ooh and the mornings with a slight cooling before the sun heats up the air.  Get out there!

all the best,

Tamara

EXPERIENCE

I am learning to live with the bugs...  There is a fly (I only see one at a time) who visits every summer - buzzing around my house till I can shoo it out the door.  Crickets, an entire family, have hopped into the den from the entryway, and they are migrating to other areas of my house, too.  I got tired of sweeping them up into the dustpan and dumping them in the garden, so, now I just dance around them.  The spiders build their webs to decorate the corners; I suppose they hope the fly will stop by...

OBSERVATION

The sky is an every evolving canvas upon which nature expresses its many faceted emotion.  There is the calm of the clear blue day, the fury of a thunderstorm, love in an evening sunset of pink and violet, rage in a tornado, mystery in a night of stars, and more.  It just "is" - constant and constantly changing.  Behold it and listen to the lessons carried to you in the breeze.

ADVICE

Whenever you can, and with childlike delight, enjoy the outdoors -- go play in the park, be barefoot in the grass, sit under a tree, smell the flowers, watch the ants march like Scouts on a trail, chase a butterfly, name the clouds, feel the sun tickle your face, turn a leaf over in your hands... realize the "magic."

TILT (This I Learned Today)

Every thing in nature is subject to the Divine Proportion, Phi... This number, also known as the Golden Number, gives the shape of the entire Universe, including in the human body. The Great Masters, such as Leonardo da Vinci, always used the Divine Proportion in their masterpieces because it is considered most appealing to the eye.  And there is a sequence of numbers - The Fibonacci series - formed by starting with 0, 1, and then adding the latest two numbers to get the next one (0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 3+2=5, 5+3=8) and so on.  The ratio of adjacent numbers becomes closer and closer to the Divine Proportion as this sequence evolves... kind'a cool to ponder.

AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGS

Nature is an interesting teacher, comforter, challenge, provider.  Enjoy touching the earth and let it touch you.  Consider the cleansing of a mud mask, the internal quench from a gulp of water, and the fragrant elixirs with which we decorate our bodies... Nature gives us food for the flesh and for the soul.

Take a bath in some salts of the earth... and let your self ponder all that you "absorb" from the experience.
