Thank you for the encouraging messages; and thanks for helping to spread the sand in this beach called life.

Oh, and, there is a site upon which I stumbled while hiking the internet; it's called Inner Peace. It offers free self-counseling software for creating personal serenity. Try Monkey Mind, even if you don't have much time.  It shows how your negative thoughts can interfere with your progress - and it indicates how easy it can be to swat those thoughts aside.

Aloha,

Tamara

EXPERIENCE

Do you ever feel like you have a recurring theme in your years, one that must have a lesson, but you don't grasp it?  Like in the film Groundhog Day you keep making the same mistake, or the same type of mistake till there is some epiphany gleaned from all the "falling down."

Mine is like this...  I let go of my dreams just because someone else asked "what are you really going to do with your life?"  Just like that, not really knowing what they implied, I inferred that they thought what I was aiming toward was futile, and I dropped my sights.  They must be right, how could I believe in me without concurrence?

Now, I am picking up all the pieces and putting them together to shape my vision in a tangible manner.  I shall create my life, making allowances for others' visions not at the expense of mine, but in addition to it.  What am I really gonna do?  Just wade 'n sea...

OBSERVATION

I watched many episodes of the show Punk'd and was amazed at how many of the "victims" remained virtually unflappable as they attempted to manage strange situations.   No wonder these folks have been successful in their arts, talents and crafts.  They have a confidence in who they are and what they stand for in this world.  Very cool.

ADVICE

Listen carefully to what your body is telling you it needs. It may be something major, like time alone for meditation, or simple, like a bubble bath.  Give yourself what you need.  You will thank you.  ; )

TILT (This I Learned Today)

Once in a blue moon was upon us on Saturday, 31 July. Occasionally, there are two full moons in one month, and that second full moon is known as a blue moon. In celebration of this, there was much ado about lunar activity.  One fascinating musing recommended a fun moon power secret said to bring harmony and luck to a person...  It is called a "Moon Luck Bath" -- and this is what you do:  when the moon is full, fill your tub with warm water and add:

1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of white wine, a sprinkle of lemon rind

Then, take a pitcher of your bath water outside under the light of the moon. Let the moonbeams "touch" your water for a moment while you ponder its light, then return the water to your bath.  Slip into the tub and, while you soak, imagine the strength of the moon empowering you and bringing to you peace, love, and luck.

AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGS

Today, I stopped everything I was doing to sit on the front steps, drink iced lemonade through a straw, and watch the cars go by.  I waved at a neighbor and said "hi" to a passer-by.  My eyes wandered off into the distance and my thoughts danced away as if in a dream.  Then I set my sights on the earth in time to notice potato bugs curling into balls in the shade beneath a stone.  A nice experience that gave meaning to "chill."  So, "chill."
