EXPERIENCE Here is one of those riddles that expanded my thinking ... hmmm. It's worth the read.
Consider this: You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus: 1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die. 2. An old friend who once saved your life. 3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about. Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
Think about it. This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first. Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. He simply answered: "I would give the car keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams." |

OBSERVATION We all have tools and strengths to help us meet the challenges in our lives. One of the greatest of these assets is always there before us, beside us, behind us, and within all that we do. That asset is time. Every moment is an opportunity – packed with possibilities. Time heals, time reveals, time changes our lives in a real way... with every passing moment. |

ADVICE Make every moment count. |

TILT (This I Learned Today) The hottest London scene now revolves around traditional tea and cakes, served in and on vintage china. The trend is so hot that teahouses are rivaling for customers. The tea trend may hop the seas and come ashore again in the USofA... I have been enjoying my Tazo Chai and of course, Earl Grey... Oh, I'll have to bake cupcakes (a.k.a. muffins)! |

AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGS Trash day is especially riveting around here! When the big big trucks come along to take away the garbage, we run to the streets to marvel at the mechanical claw that lifts each can and dumps it into the open bin... All this through the eyes of a two year old is almost magical! Some things we take for granted are actually quite interesting. Take a closer look. |
