EXPERIENCEbeen reading a lot of Dr. Suess, giving my head some creative juice. cuz now I seem to be able to rhyme, anywhere and all the time. maybe it's good, maybe it's not -- whatever the case, baby likes it a lot. |

OBSERVATIONI have also been reading the Daily News and it occurred to me that so many people seem to want to "convince" others to "share" their opinions, when maybe it would better serve to gain understanding and tolerance. If one would accept the fact that others have an opinion of their own, and though it might differ we can all still live happily, respectfully, side by side in disagreement, it might end many a conflict. I guess fear drives a lot of the fight - fear that if we are not right, then we are wrong. In most cases, no one has to be wrong. We can just see things from a different point of view. Rather than a field of same-colored poppies, consider a world of wildflowers... and many styles of cars in a lot of color choices. |

TILT (This I Learned Today)While surfing, I found this excerpt from the Vagina Monologues that peaks my interest in the live production or even in reading the book. Here is a bit for your consideration: "...I didn't hear words that were accurate, much less prideful. For example, I never once heard the word clitoris. It would be years before I learned that females possessed the only organ in the human body with no function other than to feel pleasure. (If such an organ were unique to the male body, can you imagine how much we would hear about it)." The excerpt is located here if you wish to read more: ensler excerpt. And V-Day, the nonprofit, grass roots movement dedicated to ending violence against women around the world, is inspired by Eve Ensler's work. |

AND A COUPLE OTHER THINGSMother's Day was delightful as I was able to kiss my children. And, I got a wonderful card and box of chocolates from my hubby (my biggest "kid”). My baby toddled up to me with a card he had signed - with a little help - by himself. And, my very busy teen made time to spend with me... plus she gave me a card and a box of my favorite candy wrapped in lavender paper and tied with a bow. I am so thankful. |
