EXPERIENCE

Have you noticed the great number of people who are walking around with iPods? Well, I have become one of them. It is a great way to bring the power of music to my life - the power music has to uplift, motivate, relax, entertain, inspire, and even heal. I can now carry 5000 tunes in my purse!

OBSERVATION

Music touches various levels of consciousness, ~ your body, mind, psyche, spirit and soul. Shamans from ancient times used rhythm and sounds to aid in the healing process; Buddhists chant "Om" as they meditate; Catholic monks sing the Gregorian chant and I am sure there are many other examples of how music influences us. In fact, music has been scientifically shown to have a positive effect on the nervous system, the endocrine system, and on the immune system.

ADVICE

Make time to listen to music ... and to the rhythmic beat of your life.

TILT (This I Learned Today)

I recently became acquainted with the art and science of Kat Lyons. With the frequency of sound, Kat can help one overcome a variety of emotional blocks that could otherwise manifest as physical ailments, limitations or dis-ease. For a meditative experience, Kat introduces the gongs and the dkdjeridu on the recently released CD Golden Galaxy Ride. It is an experience beyond words. Do not listen to this while you are driving. I listened to it before bed last night and I slept better than I have for YEARS. The sounds seemed to carry me away. This a compelling science/art!
